This song often gets tied with the movie La Bamba but the song was released almost 30 years prior to the movie... I believe the song deserves more credit than being associated to the movie.

The instrument was called a Hawaiian steel guitar...you should check out more of their music... people these days.. especially the younger generation is truly missing out on this era of some of the greatest music ever..
